Another SJW heard from

"SJW's are everywhere!" It took me a minute to figure out how that phrase popped into my head just now, and then I remembered. I was riffing off of "Savoir Faire is everywhere," from a cartoon series from way back. But the SJW's are everywhere. And the exchange in the quibcag (in reaction to this post [link]), reminded me that they have a whole list of snarky things to say whenever a given subject comes up. His whole comment is a quote, of course, and I don't know its provenance, but it's right there in the SJW manual of what to say when "nationalism" comes up so as to promote globalism. It's as common and as meaningless as the other phrases in their little red book, like:

"There is only one race, the human race." (No, one human species, several races.)

"We all Bleed Red." (I believe most mammals do, so do bears and hamsters deserve full human rights?)

"Diversity is our strength." (the more third world peasant colonists the better, right?)

""We're a nation of immigrants." (Actually, no. We're mostly born here.)

And if you pay attention, you'll probably hear or read plenty more during the next 24 hours.

Quibcag: Matt Bailey always knows exactly how to react to stupid assertions of this sort, which is why there are so many Matt Bailey quibcags out there. I blog so he doesn't have to. As for the illustration, it's a version of Fem-America from Hetalia: Axis Powers (Axis Powers ヘタリア).

And now, for your viewing pleasure:

  1. Nationalism is the acknowledgement and reverence that we are standing on the shoulders of giants, who in turn are standing on even larger giants - those who made the sacrifices, did the hard work, and gave their lives.

That is why America put a man on the moon and probes well past the orbit of Neptune. We only see the latest men at NASA, but they are standing on the shoulders Von Braun, who stands on the shoulders of Kepler who stands on the shoulders of Aristotle.

There are Giants elsewhere - the Chinese invented gun powder, made fireworks but don't like anyone to ascend as they have a hierarchy.

Babe Ruth was once asked how he could make more than the president - he replied "I had a better year than he did". That is why Americans can shoot for the moon and beyond, and the Japanese won't shoot past the Emperor.

  2. Mathematics is much more cold-blooded than nationalism.

And yet, if one studies math, one can start hero-worshiping guys like Galileo, and hating the people who put him under house arrest.

Mathematics is not as rational as it pretends!

But if a logical enterprise like math cannot avoid hero-worship and hate, a sentimental, romantic, emotional enterprise like nationalism cannot avoid hero-worship and hate.

No doubt one nationalist individual could be more rational than a mob of nationalists, but human nature is the origin of hero-worship and hate.

If I ever meet an internationalist or a socialist or a capitalist who doesn't demonstrate all the irrational follies of human nature, I'll be quite surprised. Thus far all the SJWs I've met have been less than perfectly rational.
