Liberbubbletarianism, by RamZpaul

The reason I'm a Libertarian Nationalist and not just a Libertarian is that in order for a libertarian society to function, it needs to have a nation to function in. You can't make a nice clean place in a gutter. You have to fence your space off, or the filth pours in, and there goes your clean space. This is so maddeningly obvious it is really frustrating to have to explain it to everybody. All the smug libertarians who blather on about "imaginary lines" and advocate open borders just can't (or won't) get it through their self-satisfied little heads that liberty of any kind is fragile and simply can't survive if you let anybody and everybody in to botch it up. And, on top of that, you have to have some method of keeping the country's natives from degenerating to the point that they can't sustain a free society.

Most of the human race doesn't have any idea what liberty is. And doesn't care. They just want stuff. They want your stuff, and don't give a damn about "private property" or the "non-aggression principle" or other libertarian fetishes. They will just take your stuff by force or however, and there are plenty of politicians out there to help them do it.

Most of these smug libertarians, of course, live as far as possible from reality, and from the kind of people who will take their stuff. They're just like their sister liberals, in that they live in a rainbow-and-unicorn world and consider realists to be ignorant and narrow-minded.

But enough. Let RamZpaul explain it. Be warned. Salty language. But dead-on accurate:

  1. *mega-sigh*
Not all libertarians, and not all leftists, are "open borders" fanatics. Vin Suprynowicz and Leslie Fish both come to mind. And I'd say that a big part of the problem is that most of Boobus Americanus grows up steeped in treacly propaganda about Ellis Island, happy immigrants weeping with joy at the sight of the Statue of Liberty, and all the rest of that rot.

    1. Oh, you're quite right, but it is, alas, necessary to make it clear that you're not, by using a term like "Libertarian Nationalist," lest everybody assume you agree with the loud-mouthed smarmy libertarians who _are_ open borders idiots. The LP platform says "Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a credible threat to security, health or property." And that's self-contradictory, of course, but is basically "open borders."

    2. Oh, thanks for mentioning Syprynowicz. I looked him up. We need more like him.

  2. If Nationalism is what's most important to you then you need to abandon Christianity as well. The New Testament is strictly anti Nationalist, The Church was actually founded upon voluntary Communism.

You could get Nationalism from the Old Testament, but the moral values you advocate are actually those Plato called for in The Laws.

  3. I'm not a Christian, but Christianity and nationalism have coexisted for centuries. Nationalism is, so far, the best organizing principle for mankind.
