In Ukraine's Field — A Graphic

I did this yesterday, and thought it deserved to be a graphic. Do pass it around.

Here it is again, as text:

With a nod of gratitude to John McCrae

In Ukraine's Field

In Ukraine's field the bodies grow
Between sunflowers, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky
The missile's sound still rushing by
Scarce heard amid debris below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Ukraine's field.

We had no quarrel with any foe,
A caveat to you we throw,
Use not our deaths to rage for wars,
To launch careers or settle scores.
Just let us sleep, as sunflowers grow
In Ukraine's field.
— J. May

  1. Thanks Rex, I can't imagine a better sentiment or eulogy
    for those poor victims.
