More Reasons Not To Trust Rick Perry

I've told Republicans that if all they want is to win, they should just nominate Hillary Clinton.  The next best thing might be Rick Perry.  Rick Perry wants open borders.  Rick Perry has been pushing that big highway from Mexico through Texas. Rick Perry is a globalist.  But he's positioning himself as though he were... Ron Paul.  One pundit calls him a polyester Ron Paul.  He's saying enough far-out Ronpaulian things about monetary policy and things in general to attract the credulous.  Indeed, if Perry had no history, much of what he says suggests that he'd be a good President.  Much of what he says.  But he lacks Ron Paul's sterling record, which is at odds with his Dennis-Quaid-Doing-John-Wayne image.  I'll stick with Ron Paul's basic Jimmy Stewart simplicity.  I'll be voting for Ron Paul in the primary, but my prediction for this hour is that Perry will be nominated, probably do something 'courageous' like picking Marco Rubio for VP, and go on to beat Obama.  And I'll probably (sigh!) vote for him, just like I voted for the egregious McCain in 2008, just to end the Obama catastrophe, or at least maybe slow it down.

Ron Paul explains why Perry's not what we need right now in this ad:
