There's a lot of sincere misunderstanding of Ron Paul's positions. After decades of New Deal/nanny state propaganda, a lot of people just can't understand that not wanting the Government to do something is not the same thing as being against that something. Some people honestly think that if the Government stopped providing food stamps to millions of people, those people would just sit there and starve to death. On the other hand, there are people who understand Ron Paul's positions very well, but choose to misrepresent and lie about them. At the top of the list is the assertion that Ron Paul blames America for 9/11. Lying pieces of garbage like Giuliani keep saying that, and they know damn well that it isn't the case. it reminds me of the brainless feminists who, when some decent person says that running around at night in skimpy outfits tends to make women more vulnerable to rapists, accuses that decent person of blaming women for being raped. Feminists are idiots by nature, of course, because they consider logical thinking some kind of patriarchic oppression, but what's Giuliani's excuse? Here's another analogy: A cop runs into a bank to stop a robbery, and the robbers shoot him. Observer Ron Paul says, "The cop got shot because he was trying to stop a robbery." Media reporter: "So, you blame the cop for the shooting?"
By all
means, criticize Ron Paul. All politicians rate a little criticism. But criticize him for his actual failings, not for things you make
up about him.
Well, just in case some such people are reading this, no, Ron Paul isn't
blaming America for 911. What he's saying is that, if you have a policy of attacking Muslim countries for whatever reason, you can expect some Muslims to get the idea of retaliating. If we decided to, say, bomb Canada here and there to encourage them to be nicer to their baby seals or something, we shouldn't be surprised if some guy in a parka and stocking cap blows up a Starbucks in Minot. Most especially, we shouldn't say they hate us because of our freedom. The Afghans hated the Russians for awhile back there, you know, and I'm pretty sure they didn't hate
them for their freedoms. Speaking of all that blather,
Pat Buchanan discusses the glorious Bush legacy (now morphing into the Obama legacy), and other idiotic moments in history HERE.
And back to Ron Paul and "blaming America" — The media have run with all the phony remarks made about him, hating him as they do, and they're doing their best to number one, reelect Obama, and number two, eliminate any Republican that has anything worthwhile to say from contention.
Michael Sheuer explains how they're going about it HERE.
Do they have a Starbucks in Minot?
